clay pigeon shooting sussex - the clay preacher
Everything you need to know about our bespoke clay shooting
location

Our shooting ground is located at the base of a private valley close to the village of Litlington, which lies about midway between Lewes and Eastbourne in East Sussex. The area we use is not only tranquil and picturesque but well away from paths and tracks and therefore ideal for clay shooting.

equipment

We use only the latest Promatic automatic clay traps and modern Beretta over and under shotguns. All our equipment is regularly maintained and serviced. Licence holders are welcome to bring their own guns. Biodegradable fibre wad cartridges will be provided for each shooter, and a new set of disposable hearing protectors will be given to each member of your party.

packages

We are able to tailor shooting packages to suit all levels of experience for individual, corporate/private groups, stag and hen parties, or field shooters wishing to brush up their skills either before or during the season. We can arrange post shooting lunch or dinner at one of a number of the local pubs in the area, all of which have fantastic menus to suit any budget. We are also able to arrange the hire of mountain bikes, which can be delivered to our venue should you wish to continue the outdoor theme and further explore the Cuckmere Valley after your shoot.

itinerary

On the day of your shoot we will meet in the car park of a local pub. Once all assembled, your party will be transported to the ground by Land Rover.

At the shooting ground you will receive a full safety briefing and quick explanation on both the workings of a shotgun and the techniques of successful clay shooting. Dependent on the numbers your group may be split in two with a mixture of abilities to each.

With the boring stuff over we can then move onto the shooting stands, where you will be individually coached as you shoot on how to best achieve hits on all 10 clays on each of the five layouts. Please note that barracking is not only expected but positively encouraged!

A score card will be kept !

There will be a short tea/coffee break with complimentary homemade cakes at about the halfway point.

After everyone has completed their 50 clays, scores will be totalled and the day’s “Top Gun” announced. Score cards will of course be handed back to help with the inevitable arguments over a pint later!

You will need to allow 2.5 – 3 hours for your time with us.

what to wear

There are no formal dress requirements for clay shooting with us, so no need to rush out and buy a pair of green wellies! Please be advised that shooting will continue regardless of the weather conditions on the day so it’s important that you dress accordingly.

alcohol and drugs

Alcohol, drugs and guns do not mix. We reserve the right to refuse to allow anyone to shoot who is, or appears to be, under the influence of either. Monies will not be refunded.
